What is Himachal Pradesh Medha Protsahan Yojana 2023?

The Himachal Pradesh government launched the Himachal Pradesh Medha Protsahan Yojana 2023. All of the state’s economically weak 12th pass students are eligible to apply to this scheme, which gives them the chance to test for various competitive exams, like UPSC, SSC, JEE, NEET, FMC, NDA, CLAT, Banking/Insurance, and Railways. A one-lakh incentive from the government will be provided for UPSC, SSC, Banking, Railways, and other areas coaching.

350 intermediate students and 150 graduate applicants will be selected under the Himachal Pradesh Medha Protsahan Yojana 2023 based only on merit. Meritorious students in institutions both inside and outside the state would receive coaching under this scheme from the Higher Education Department of the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The Himachal Pradesh Higher Education Department is accepting applications for the Medha Protsahan Yojana for the 2023–2024 academic year. In order to get the benefits of this scheme, students can apply before November 25, 2023.

Benefits and Characteristics Of Himachal Pradesh Medha Protsahan Yojana 2023

1. The economically weak students of the state will get benefit from this scheme.
2. Students will be selected on the basis of merit.
3. Under this scheme, financial assistance up to Rs. 1 lakh will be provided to students for coaching of JEE, NEET, FMC, NDA, CLAT, UPSC, SSC, BANKING, RAILWAY and other competitive examinations.
4. In Himachal Pradesh Medha Protsahan Yojana 2023, 30% of seats will be reserved for girl students.
5. In this scheme, it has been made mandatory for the selected student to be present in all the classes in the concerned coaching institute.
6. Undergraduate students will be given financial assistance to do employment-related coaching.
7. Students selected by the government will be sent for coaching in institutes of their own state or outside states.
8. It is also mandatory for the coaching institutes providing training to submit a bank guarantee of Rs 1 lakh to the Higher Education Department.
9. If any institute has not deposited the amount yet then they will have to deposit the amount with immediate effect, only then the coaching institute will be eligible for this purpose.

Eligibility Criteria for Himachal Pradesh Medha Protsahan Yojana 2023

1. Only students native to Himachal Pradesh will be eligible for this scheme.
2. For 11th (10 +1), general category students should have 75% marks in 11th and SC, ST category students should have 65% or more marks.
3. General category students who have passed Intermediate (10+2) examination should have at least 75% marks and SC, ST, Backward Class students should have 65% or more marks in 12th.
4. The total income of the family of the applying candidate should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh per year.
5. For graduation level, the marks of general category students should be up to 50%, while the marks of reserved category i.e. backward class and tribe students should be up to 45%.

1. Graduates can send their application form to Additional/Joint Director (College), Directorate of Education through post or e-mail at medha.protsahan@gov.in.
2. The last date for submission of applications has been fixed as November 25, 2023 and no applications will be accepted after that.
3. Only one application form will be accepted from one Email ID.
4. To prepare for competitive examinations, students up to class 12th will have to submit their applications to the Deputy Director of Higher Education of the concerned district through post or e-mail.
